We are seeking a highly motivated and innovative Physiotherapist to join the Stroke Therapy Team. This post involves rotating between Stroke and Rehabilitation wards within Swindon Intermediate Care Centre (SWICC). There may be future rotations within the Community Stroke team. This is an exciting opportunity to use your stroke and general rehabilitation skills. SWICC is a purpose-built 60 bedded inpatient rehabilitation unit on the Great Western Hospital site with access to excellent facilities, including a therapy gym and therapy rehab kitchen. You will be supported by Band 6 and 7 Physiotherapists and work closely with the Band 7 and 6 Occupational Therapists. Feedback from staff is that the whole SWICC therapy team are a very supportive team and always willing to support and help each other, and this does sometimes require covering across services when required. We are keen to ensure the continued development of our staff and as such there are both internal and external opportunities for training and development.

Responsibilities

  • Rotate between Stroke and Rehabilitation wards within SWICC; potential future rotations within Community Stroke team.
  • Collaborate with Band 6/7 Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists to deliver stroke and general rehabilitation.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and delivery of patient care within the Stroke Therapy Team.
  • Engage in opportunities for internal and external training and development.

Requirements

  • Qualified Physiotherapist (Band 5) with eligibility to practice in the UK.
  • Willingness to rotate between inpatient wards and, potentially, community settings.
  • Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and participate in a supportive, collaborative environment.
