As a School health support worker, you\’ll work closely with School Nurses to deliver the Healthy Child Programme (5-19). Your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out vision, hearing, and growth checks for children starting school
- Supporting the National Child Measurement Programme
- Delivering health promotion activities for pupils in Key Stage 1 and 2
This role requires care, patience, and enthusiasm to impact children\’s health positively. Main duties involve:
- Conducting growth, vision, and hearing screenings following national and local guidance
- Using LogMAR vision and audiology tests confidently
- Contributing to the National Child Measurement Programme
- Working independently in schools, maintaining positive relationships and encouraging participation
- Managing workload, records, equipment, and data submission
- Delivering health promotion activities and supporting the wider team
- Using IT systems for recording and communication
- Ensuring safeguarding and participating in ongoing training and team discussions
We seek someone with a friendly manner, good communication skills, and a passion for supporting children.
