b Overview /b p In this role you will provide safe medicines management within a prison healthcare setting, with a focus on mental health and antipsychotic monitoring. You will split time between dispensary duties and direct clinical services, influencing patient care and governance. You’ll lead medication reviews, audits, and PMD-related activities to uphold best practices. You work closely with multidisciplinary teams to optimise medicines use and support patients on their treatment journeys. This role offers meaningful impact by improving clinical standards in a complex environment. /p b Pay / Benefits /b ul li Salary £50,133.33–£57,600 (pro rata) /li li Group Pension /li li Career development and eLearning via Learning Enterprise /li li My Reward Hub discounts and cashback /li li Access to wages as you earn them /li li Wellbeing support and coaching /li /ul b Responsibilities /b ul li Dispensary medicines management: ensure safe, timely, and secure supply of medications; oversee transport and handling of medicines; supervise pharmacy technicians; maintain day-to-day dispensary operations. /li li Clinical duties: conduct medication reviews, develop care plans, perform yearly audits on controlled drugs, antibiotics, and PGDs; provide SMRs; participate in clinics and advise on medications; manage minor ailments; optimise medicines usage; administer medications on the wing as needed. /li li Prescribing monitoring: clinically screen prescriptions for safety and legality; review admission histories and adjust as needed; monitor antimicrobial prescribing per AMR guidelines; evaluate prescribing trends and advise on formulary standards. /li /ul b Key requirements /b ul li GPhC registration as a Pharmacist /li li Master’s degree in Pharmacy or equivalent /li li Independent prescriber /li li Previous UK-prison/hospital/community pharmacy experience /li /ul ul li Medication reviews and pharmaceutical care planning /li li PGDs application and audits /li li AMR guideline familiarity /li li Formulary adherence and prescribing trend analysis /li li Clinical supervision of staff and multidisciplinary collaboration /li /ul
