You’ll take on a leadership role in your Healthy Family Team, helping to shape the delivery of public health services to children, young people, and their families.

You’ll be a trusted partner for schools, healthcare providers, and multi-agency teams, using your expertise to guide and support others while directly influencing the lives of the families you serve.

This is a part time role working 22.5 hours across the week (usually 3 days) based in Canvey.

Main Responsibility

As a SCPHN School Nurse, you’ll take on a rewarding role that’s both varied and impactful. You’ll be part of a multi-disciplinary team providing preventative and supportive health care to children, young people, and their families in schools, homes, and community venues.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering the Healthy Child Programme across all four levels.
  • Managing and supervising School Staff Nurses and Support Staff, helping them prioritize and organize their caseloads.
  • Mentoring students and new team members, fostering their development as they grow into their roles.
  • Working closely with headteachers, healthcare providers, and multi-agency teams to ensure seamless support for school-age children.
  • Confidently supporting vulnerable children and families, collaborating with safeguarding teams to reduce risk and prevent harm.

We know this work is as challenging as it is fulfilling, so you’ll have access to robust support from our Healthy Family Team Leaders and a wider multi-disciplinary network.
