The Role
As a Registered Mental Health Nurse, you will provide high-quality nursing care to individuals with a range of mental health needs while working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver safe and effective mental health nursing care in line with NMC standards.
- Complete patient assessments, care planning, risk assessments, and clinical reviews.
- Support individuals experiencing acute and complex mental health conditions.
- Administer medication safely and monitor patient responses.
- Develop therapeutic relationships with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Promote recovery-focused care, independence, dignity, and patient wellbeing.
- Recognise changes in patients' mental and physical health and escalate concerns appropriately.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and documentation.
- Work effectively alongside multidisciplinary teams to achieve positive patient outcomes.
- Follow safeguarding, infection prevention, and clinical governance procedures.
Essential Requirements
- Current NMC Registration as a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN).
- Minimum 6 months' UK mental health nursing experience.
- Previous experience within mental health hospitals, inpatient services, community mental health, or specialist settings.
- Valid Enhanced DBS.
- Professional references covering the last 3 years of employment.
- Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Compassionate, reliable, and professional approach.
- Right to work in the UK.
