About The Role
We are looking for an experienced Head of Business Development and Marketing Strategy to grow our business development function and lead on marketing and communications strategies for the firm. The role supports all service, sector and office teams across the firm and works hand‑in‑hand with the marketing operations leads. It requires a versatile professional who can shift between high‑level strategic thinking and detailed tactical execution, inspire and motivate teams, analyse market trends and use data to optimise performance. Experience in professional services is desirable but not essential if the candidate is a quick learner with strong business acumen.
The Job
- Lead on devising and delivering BD strategies and initiatives that generate fees and help grow the firm, including writing proposals, pitches and bids, and targeting opportunities to win new work, client maximisation and market development.
- Support the Marketing team to devise strategies that promote the firm\’s services, raise profile and increase brand awareness.
- Work with Marketing operational leads to ensure execution of agreed strategic plans.
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and direction to direct reports.
- Identify trends, competitive landscapes and opportunities, providing insights to drive strategic decision‑making.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of BD and Marketing initiatives using metrics and analytics, making data‑driven adjustments to optimise performance and ROI.
- Manage external partners, such as freelance specialists, briefing and coordinating them as an extension of the internal team.
About You
- Graduation in marketing, business or communications, or comparable qualification.
- Evidence of business development, marketing or management CPD.
- Experience at an equivalent level in a similar sized or complex organisation.
- Minimum 15 years’ marketing experience.
