Our award‐winning Education team is expanding its corporate offering. We are seeking a senior solicitor (8+ years PQE) to play a key role in driving growth and advancing our corporate education practice.
Responsibilities
- Lead and advise education clients, especially independent schools, on corporate transactions (sales, acquisitions, charitable mergers, restructurings, and strategic collaborations).
- Develop and manage client relationships with Boards of Governors, trustees, heads, bursars, and school proprietors.
- Support the delivery of high‐quality work while contributing to business development and client relationship growth.
- Collaborate with partners and colleagues across the sector team to provide seamless client service.
- Lead practice development initiatives, build strong referral networks both externally and internally, and support the team's sector profile through events, thought leadership and client training.
- Take ownership of client relationships and mentor junior team members.
Qualifications
- Strong corporate experience at Legal Director or Partner level.
- Broad transactional knowledge with confidence managing day‐to‐day work.
- Experience or genuine interest in the education and/or charity sector.
- Commercial awareness and pragmatic mindset.
- Excellent technical and drafting skills.
- Collaborative leadership style and enthusiasm for mentoring.
- Ability to win work, develop contacts, and convert opportunities.
