Position: Legal Assistant (Residential Property)

Responsibilities

  • Based in Cambridge and reporting to the Legal Support Manager. Provide in-depth business support to the fee earners within the Residential Property team.
  • Draft and format letters, documents, and forms (e.g., sale contracts, exchange and completion letters).
  • Conduct searches (Local Authority, Land Registry, Insolvency, Compliance Regulation).
  • Be the first point of contact for administrative and business support requirements for fee earners; anticipate the team’s needs where possible.
  • Support the file opening process for the team.
  • Assist with preparation of all financial transactions as required, including new matter quotes.
  • Filter client and agent queries; act as the first point of contact for clients when needed.

About You / Qualifications

  • Sound knowledge of IT systems including full Microsoft Office suite and Teams.
  • Excellent attention to detail with confident typing abilities.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Experience in a client-facing environment is advantageous.
  • Previous experience in a legal or professional services environment desirable.
  • Experience in case management systems is preferable but not essential.
