About The Role
With our continued growth, we are recruiting for a Legal Assistant or Paralegal to join our Residential Conveyancing department. The team handles local sales, purchases and transfers on behalf of existing and new clients and operates out of our Cardiff office, where you will provide in‑depth business support to a busy conveyancing team.
Responsibilities
- Draft and format letters, documents and forms such as sale contracts, exchange and completion letters.
- Conduct searches (Local Authority, Land Registry, Insolvency, Compliance Regulation).
- Act as first point of contact for fee earners’ administrative and business support needs, anticipating the team’s requirements.
- Support the file opening process, including compliance checks.
- Assist with the preparation of all financial transactions, including new matter quotes.
- Filter client and agent queries, sometimes serving as the first point of contact for clients.
Qualifications
- Sound knowledge of IT systems including the full Microsoft Office suite and Teams.
- Excellent attention to detail and confident typing abilities.
- Strong communication and organisation skills.
- Experience in a client‑facing environment is advantageous.
- Previous experience within a legal/professional services environment is desirable, and experience in a conveyancing department is highly desirable.
- Experience in case management systems is preferable but not essential.
