We have a fantastic opportunity for a Contentious Probate Solicitor to join our successful and growing Contentious Probate team. Our nationally recognised team is known for delivering high-quality work and achieving excellent outcomes for clients, with a strong reputation across the UK. Based in our Cardiff office, you will join a large, supportive team where you will be encouraged to develop your skills and progress your career.
Our Contentious Probate team advises on a broad range of matters, including will, trust and estate-related disputes, Inheritance Act claims, challenges to will validity, disputes involving breaches of trust, and applications for the removal of executors/trustees, as well as a wide variety of other contentious matters. The team is extremely busy, offering an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to a diverse and interesting caseload.
You will be a qualified solicitor, or legal executive, with up to 4 years’ experience in contentious probate (applications are welcome if your experience was gained as part of a training contract). You will be confident managing your own caseload, advising clients and progressing matters efficiently. You will also demonstrate a genuine interest in business development, both internally and externally, and will contribute to sharing knowledge and best practice across the team.

You Will Need- 0–4 years’ PQE Contentious probate experience
- Ability to work collaboratively and manage client relationships successfully
- Excellent technical ability and drafting skills
- Strong IT proficiency
- Strong teamwork and relationship-building skills
- Commercial awareness
- A proactive, ambitious and organised approach, with excellent attention to detail
