Overview
We are seeking a motivated and reliable individual to join our team as a Van Driver & Factory Operative. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently, as well as supporting factory operations, including loading and unloading of coffins, assembly, inspection, and general warehouse duties. This dual-role position requires attention to safety, good time management, excellent customer service, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Packing, loading and unloading delivery vans and trucks
- Delivering coffins and goods to customers on designated routes
- Maintaining regular communication with office staff
- Communicating with customers regarding expected time of arrival
- Obtaining delivery confirmations from customers
- Cleaning and servicing van for the next delivery
- Assisting at the warehouse as and when required
Requirements
- Valid UK driving license with a clean record
- Previous experience in driving, logistics, or manufacturing is advantageous but not essential
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Physical stamina for loading/unloading and manual assembly tasks
- Ability to read maps, navigate efficiently, and use GPS tools
- Strong attention to detail, reliability, and time management skills
- Flexibility to work overtime or varied shifts when required
