We have partnered closely with an award-winning, independent community hospital in Vermont to find a dynamic and visionary Ophthalmology Medical Director. This is a premier leadership and clinical opportunity to step into a thriving, highly collaborative, hospital-employed practice. You will lead an exceptional, high-volume team that includes an additional ophthalmologist, a skilled optometrist, and a dedicated, fully supportive staff of Certified Ophthalmic Assistants (COAs).
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the Medical Director for the Ophthalmology practice, guiding clinical protocols, driving quality initiatives, and fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Maximise efficiency within assigned, dedicated OR blocks in a state-of-the-art procedure centre explicitly equipped with updated, modern technology to seamlessly accommodate high-volume surgeries.
- Manage a busy, established patient panel, delivering top-tier medical and surgical ophthalmic care to a dedicated community across central and southern Vermont.
- Participate in an equitable 1:4 call rotation designed to maintain an excellent work-life balance with a historically minimal call burden.
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.
- Successful completion of an accredited Ophthalmology Residency programme.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible (BC/BE) by the American Board of Ophthalmology.
- Active, unrestricted medical licence in the state of Vermont (or immediate eligibility to obtain).
- Proven clinical excellence, strong communication skills, and a desire to step into an impactful clinical leadership role.
