A challenging career opportunity has arisen for an experienced Workshop Manager who has worked in the capacity of Master or Diagnostic Technician to lead the workshop team of an established Service Centre in Heathrow.
As Workshop Manager, you will be familiar with managing and motivating a productive workshop team, whilst recognising the importance of health, safety and operational effectiveness.

- Experience of working as a vehicle Workshop Controller or in a similar fast-paced, time-critical environment is essential
- Knowledge of welding, hydraulics, petrol, electric and diesel vehicles
- Live within an easy commute from Heathrow
- Able to pass a basic security check
- Full UK driving licence, with a maximum of 3 points
The successful candidate will be responsible for the daily control of the workshop, covering a wide range of vehicles and machinery, including High Voltage Electric vehicles.

- Has an inquisitive technical mind and welcomes the opportunity to upskill
- Ability to motivate, guide and develop the team using knowledge of working on a variety of makes and models of vehicles and mechanical products
- Someone who can manage and, if required, introduce processes to ensure optimum efficiency, output and service levels
Using your knowledge and experience as a trained vehicle technician and workshop manager:
- Managing workshop operations; ensuring optimum productivity, efficiency and quality repair
- Maintaining good working relationships and communication with colleagues and key personnel, both internal and external departments
- Liaising with departmental personnel to understand their requirements, offer guidance, manage expectations and discuss realistic timeframes, allowing you to plan ahead and ensure timelines and service levels are deliverable
- Using your organisational skills to proactively plan and organise the team
- Maximising productivity by ensuring workshop equipment and resources are in working order and available for use
- Mentoring and supporting the team, increasing and maintaining workshop productivity and efficiency, with the aim of achieving a “First Time Fix”
- Efficient management of service workshop colleagues
- Offering technical advice and support, test driving vehicles, quality control
- Updating internal departments and customers with timescales and developments
- Organising the workload and distributing work to ensure optimum efficiency and productivity
- Identifying potential bottlenecks early through regular updates to avoid escalation
- Keeping abreast of technical advances
- Adhering to health & safety practices and ensuring the team comply too
- Enhancing the knowledge and skills of each team member by participation in training courses
