3 days/week - Work from office and 2 days from home. Candidate should have valid authorization to work in the UK.

VMware VCF Specialist with Windows Server Support Skills
  • Proven experience supporting VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) environments.
  • Strong proficiency in Windows Server administration (2016/2019/2022).
  • Expertise in virtualisation technologies, including vSphere, vSAN, HCX and SDDC management.
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts, storage solutions, and security principles.
  • Experience with PowerShell and automation tools for system administration and management.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills, with the ability to diagnose complex infrastructure issues.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, suitable for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Relevant certifications (such as VMware VCP, Microsoft MCSE, or equivalent) are highly desirable.
Scope of Services
  • Maintain VMware infrastructure to support business requirements.
  • Assist with the migration of virtual machines from legacy VMware environments to new VCF infrastructure using HCX.
  • Provide advanced support for Windows Server environments, including installation, configuration, patching, and troubleshooting.
  • Monitor, analyse, and resolve performance issues across both virtual and physical server landscapes.
  • Manage lifecycle operations within VCF, including upgrades, expansions, and integration with existing infrastructure.
  • Implement and maintain backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions for virtualised and Windows Server environments.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to ensure seamless integration of VCF with other enterprise systems and platforms.
  • Document processes, configurations, and troubleshooting steps for operational transparency and knowledge sharing.
  • Maintain compliance with security policies and industry best practices within both VMware and Windows Server domains.
  • Participate in capacity planning, performance tuning, and resource optimisation activities.
  • Respond to and resolve escalated technical support requests, providing expert guidance and resolution.
  • Plan, coordinate, and manage end-to-end VCF migration projects across enterprise environments.
  • Assess existing infrastructure and create detailed project plans.
  • Lead migration activities, including workload transition, data transfer, and post-migration validation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure minimal disruption and optimal outcomes during migration.
  • Develop documentation, migration runbooks, and knowledge transfer materials for internal teams.
  • Identify risks, propose mitigation strategies, and ensure compliance with security and regulatory standards.
  • Monitor project progress, manage timelines, and report status to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Deliver technical training and support to team members regarding VCF best practices.

Migrations will be running 24 x 7 so some shift and weekend work will be expected. A supportive, diverse and global team with a brilliant culture.
