We are seeking a highly experienced Teradata Subject Matter Expert (SME) with strong expertise in Teradata development, performance optimization, and metadata management. The role involves designing, maintaining, and modernizing enterprise data warehouse solutions while supporting migration initiatives from Teradata to modern data platforms.

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-performance Teradata data warehouse solutions.
  • Write and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, macros, and views.
  • Implement data modeling techniques including star and snowflake schemas.
  • Develop and manage ETL/ELT pipelines using Teradata utilities and integrated tools.
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and consistency across enterprise systems.

Performance Optimization & Database Management

  • Perform query tuning and optimization using explain plans.
  • Implement indexing strategies including PI, SI, Join Index, and PPI.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot production issues.
  • Deep understanding of DBC.Tables, DBC.Columns, DBC.Indices, TablesV, ColumnsV.
  • Use metadata for lineage, diagnostics, and schema discovery.
  • Develop automation scripts using metadata.

Data Migration & Modernization

  • Lead migration from Teradata to cloud platforms.
  • Define migration strategies and re-engineer ETL pipelines.
  • Perform validation, reconciliation, and benchmarking.

Required Qualifications

  • 8–12+ years of Teradata development experience.
  • Strong SQL, data modeling, and performance tuning skills.
  • Experience with ETL tools such as Informatica or DataStage.
  • Knowledge of Unix/Linux scripting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Teradata migration projects.
  • Knowledge of GCP is a plus.
  • Experience with Apache Spark is a plus.
  • Experience with DataStage or similar ETL tools.
