Net Dev Ops Automation Consultant

Role Overview
The Net Dev Ops Consultant will drive network integration, automation, and orchestration across cloud, edge, and enterprise environments aligned to a Modern Ops and AI-first operating model.
The role focuses on Network Infrastructure as Code (Net Ia C), CI/CD pipelines, AI-driven operations (AIOps), observability integration, and SRE-led reliability engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage Network Infrastructure as Code (Net Ia C) using Python, Ansible, and Terraform for provisioning and lifecycle management.
- Design and implement CI/CD pipelines using Git Ops, APIs, and orchestration platforms (e. g., Itential) for network services.
- Automate connectivity services (VLAN, DNS, Firewall, DDI) integrated with Service Now and ITSM workflows.
- Drive AI/ML use cases such as WAN capacity forecasting, anomaly detection, predictive analytics, and self-healing networks.
- Integrate and manage observability platforms (Solar Winds Orion, Elastic, Grafana, ZDX) for proactive monitoring and insights.
- Provide engineering and support for MCP (Model Context Protocol) and AI agent integrations.
- Ensure AI-driven compliance, security monitoring, cost optimization, and continuous network stability improvements.
- Collaborate with Cloud, IAM, SRE, and platform teams to deliver unified control plane operations across Azure, GCP, and Edge.
- Participate in design reviews focusing on resilience, failure domains, scalability, and automation readiness.
- Create reusable playbooks, pipelines, and modules for provisioning, upgrades, compliance, and backup workflows.
- Mentor engineers and contribute to best practices in Net Dev Ops, automation, and reliability engineering.
- Support global 24x7 operations aligned to SRE principles (SLIs, SLOs, Error Budgets) and drive reduction in incidents via AIOps.
- Technical Skills & Experience
- Strong experience in network engineering / NOC / NRE / Net Dev Ops roles.
- Deep expertise in core networking: BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, STP, VLANs, VRFs, HSRP/VRRP.
- Hands-on experience across network domains: LAN/WAN, SD-WAN, Data Center (ACI/Nexus), WLAN, Firewalls, Load Balancers.
- Strong network automation expertise using Python, Ansible, Terraform, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with Python libraries such as Netmiko, NAPALM, py ATS (preferred).
- Experience with orchestration tools such as Itential.
- Knowledge of Source of Truth tools like Net Box/Nautobot and ITSM integration (Service Now).
- Experience with observability tools such as Solar Winds, Grafana, Elastic, Thousand Eyes, DNAC.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, Qo S, and troubleshooting complex network issues.
- Experience with cloud networking in Azure and GCP environments.
- Exposure to AIOps, AI-driven operations, and observability platforms.
- Scope & Delivery Expectations
- Deliver ~30–40 automation workflows/stories per quarter across LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, Firewall, DDI, and Cloud domains.
- Own build, test, operations support, and continuous development.
- Operate within a global 24x7x365 environment.
- Drive reduction in tickets through automation, observability, and AI-driven self-healing capabilities.
- Align delivery to SRE principles with measurable SLIs/SLOs and continuous improvement.
- Additional Requirements
- Experience in SRE-driven operating model.
- Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience in documentation (runbooks/playbooks) and mentoring team members.
- Relevant certifications in Networking, Azure, GCP, and Automation preferred.
- Experience in multi-cloud, edge networking, and SD-WAN environments preferred.
