The role:
The team is building a new platform to enable the efficient, secure and controlled sharing of data across the bank. You will work as a Service Design expert with proficient experience in the Human Centered Design Process, defining and documenting:
- Conducting and facilitating design thinking workshops
- User research & user testing when required
- Define and develop user flows, journey maps
- Define and develop service design blueprints
- Information and data flows that interact with users
- Work with UX, UI and technical development teams to develop the experience
- Experience with working with data platforms and data marketplaces is highly desirable
What does a day in the life look like for a Senior Service Designer?
Define, plan, execute and deliver actionable service design, journey maps and documentation with a focus on research, experience architecture, ensuring frictionless experiences for users. You will oversee the Service Design and research aspects of the program, working with stakeholders to understand, define and design the journey’s for users across the data products.
As an experienced UX & Service Designer, you will plan, run and lead workshops, and discovery sessions. Participate in persona creation, user journeys, flows and blueprints and assist client teams to establish a consistent approach to user experience across data products and marketplaces.
You will work closely with product owners and the business to gain in-depth understanding of user needs, identifying common touchpoints, removing pain-points and reducing friction. Focuses on developing a coherent service that accommodates all personas across a user spectrum. Eliminating complexities and crafting simplified solutions through research and designing data driven experiences.
Identify the appropriate communication and user engagement method depending on different stages of the service lifecycle. i.e., rapid prototyping
You will present solutions to stakeholders to help create a deep understanding of the user and process within the business and help create and embed a culture of user-centric design.
End-to-end experience of all aspects of UX and Design from ideation and concept creation to development ready designs.
Experienced working in Agile environments, feeding design input into the development process within sprints. Ideally, with a proven track-record of implementing UX process within Agile environments with quick and iterative methods.
Work closely with UX, User Interface designers, developers, business analysts, product owners, product managers and other team members who are as passionate about their work as you are, to ensure design solutions make a significant contribution to the delivery of the service.
Communicating and disseminating UX solutions, tradeoff rationales, and documenting outputs in engaging ways. Forms confident and productive relationships with types of stakeholders. An ability to build rapport and value with product owners and the business through communication and engagement is a must.

What experience and skills do we need from a Senior User Experience Designer?
Essential:
- Financial Services experience ideally working on big data programs
- A self-starter that can work autonomously and ability to lead by example, with authority and conviction, and ability to work seamlessly and collaboratively with senior project team and product owners
- Experience of managing/leading Service Design & UX work streams, with a strong ability to communicate, connect the dots across the teams and articulate reasons behind any suggestions you make across the program
- Drive service design, design governance across the program, set standards for user needs through research and challenge and shape the program user experience principles using a range of user-based testing methodologies
- Possess experience/knowledge of a range of UX and design methods and deliverables (e.g. Wire-framing/Prototyping, UX/UI Design).
- Strong interpersonal skills, and open to giving and receiving constructive feedback to learn and further develop yourself as a UX professional.
- Have a natural aptitude for technology and innovation, with the ability to quickly learn new technologies and troubleshoot them independently.
- Eager to identify, define and implement new interaction models and methodologies.
- Understanding of Design Principles and Digital Service Standards and its application to internal products and services.
- Ability to paper prototype, sketching within the ideation process to communicate fulfilment of business/user goals within a UI to initiate co-creation streams
- Work at the office location in London for 2 days a week
Desirable:
- Excellent understanding of Data and the challenges a large company faces with data and user experience
- Degree-qualified or professional knowledge in a relevant area including psychology, cognitive science, computer science.

- Experience designing considered user interfaces for digital products and services
- Extensive knowledge of Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, Keynote, Microsoft Office
