Role Overview
The SAP S/4HANA Transformation Director is responsible for leading enterprise-wide SAP transformation programs, overseeing the strategy, planning, governance, and execution of SAP S/4HANA implementations and business transformation initiatives.
This role serves as the senior leader accountable for driving business value realization, process standardization, organizational change management, and successful delivery across multiple workstreams including Finance, Supply Chain, Procurement, Manufacturing, Sales, and Technology.
The successful candidate will partner closely with executive leadership, business stakeholders, system integrators, and SAP solution teams to ensure alignment between business objectives and technology transformation outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Transformation Leadership
- Define and execute the SAP S/4HANA transformation strategy aligned with organizational objectives.
- Lead large-scale SAP transformation programs from business case development through implementation and post-go-live stabilization.
- Establish program governance, steering committees, decision-making frameworks, and executive reporting structures.
- Drive enterprise process harmonization, standardization, and adoption of SAP best practices.
- Program & Portfolio Management
- Manage multiple SAP program workstreams including Finance, Supply Chain, Procurement, Manufacturing, Sales, and Data Management.
- Oversee budgets, resources, timelines, risks, dependencies, and vendor performance.
- Ensure successful delivery of transformation objectives within agreed scope, schedule, and budget.
- Implement program management methodologies, controls, and transformation KPIs.
- Business Transformation
- Collaborate with executive stakeholders to redesign business processes enabled by SAP S/4HANA capabilities.
- Drive operating model transformation and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Identify opportunities for automation, digital innovation, and process optimization.
- Ensure alignment between business outcomes and technology investments.
- Stakeholder & Executive Management
- Act as a trusted advisor to C-suite leaders and business executives.
- Lead steering committee meetings and provide regular updates on program health, risks, and value realization.
- Build strong relationships with business leaders, SAP partners, and system integrators.
- Manage executive-level issue resolution and decision-making.
- Change Management & Adoption
- Sponsor organizational change management initiatives across impacted functions.
- Drive user adoption, communication strategies, training programs, and stakeholder engagement activities.
- Establish business readiness and deployment strategies for successful implementation.
- Data, Technology & Architecture Oversight
- Oversee SAP S/4HANA solution architecture in collaboration with enterprise architects and technical leadership.
- Guide decisions related to cloud transformation, SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), analytics, integration, and data migration.
- Ensure compliance with cybersecurity, governance, and regulatory requirements.
- Promote scalable and sustainable SAP solution designs.
Experience
- 15+ years of experience leading large-scale ERP and business transformation programs.
- 8+ years of SAP program leadership experience.
- Proven delivery of at least 2-3 full-cycle SAP S/4HANA transformations in global organizations.
- Experience leading programs exceeding $ multimillion in budget and involving multiple regions/business units.
- Strong understanding of SAP Activate methodology and transformation frameworks.
