We are seeking a seasoned Workday Solution Architect with a strong Integration background to own the end-to-end integration strategy, design and delivery across Workday HCM/Payroll and the wider enterprise landscape. The architect will define patterns and standards, lead a team of consultants/developers, and ensure secure, scalable and resilient integrations aligned to business goals, data governance and compliance, and global regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Define Workday integration architecture, standards and reusable patterns (EIB, Core Connectors, Workday Studio, Reports-as-a-Service, PECI/PICOF, Workday Extend, REST/SOAP).
- Lead discovery and design workshops; translate business requirements into technical designs, data models and mapping for HCM, Time & Absence, Payroll, Benefits, Recruiting and Talent modules.
- Establish environment strategy and release governance (Sandbox/Preview/Production), version control and CI/CD for integration assets; oversee migration and cutover.
- Own security-by-design for integrations: domain security policies, Integration System Users (ISU), OAuth2/certificates, encryption (SFTP/HTTPS), and PII handling.
- Drive end-to-end testing (SIT, E2E, UAT, performance); build test data strategy; manage defect triage and remediation.
- Direct production readiness and operations: monitoring (Integration Audit, alerts), SLAs, incident/problem management and root-cause analysis.
- Collaborate with HR/Payroll/Finance/IT Security and external vendors; provide technical leadership and mentorship to integration teams.
- Create high-quality design artefacts: solution blueprints, sequence/data-flow diagrams, runbooks, support models and knowledge base articles.
- Identify risks and interdependencies; maintain roadmaps and deliver executive-ready status updates and metrics.
Required Skills & Experience
- Deep hands-on expertise in Workday Studio, Core Connectors (HCM/Benefits/Payroll, PICOF, PECI), EIB and Reports-as-a-Service; advanced Calculated Fields, XSLT/XML/JSON.
- Strong API knowledge (REST/SOAP), SFTP, web services security, and event-driven integrations.
- Proven delivery of payroll integrations (PECI to downstream engines), GL postings, benefits providers, identity and time/attendance solutions.
- Experience with middleware/iPaaS (e.g., Boomi, MuleSoft, Azure Logic Apps) and enterprise integration patterns.
- Solid understanding of Workday security model, business processes, and tenant management.
- Exposure to Workday Extend, BIRT and Prism Analytics (nice to have).
- Data migration/conversion experience, including approach, tooling and validation.
- Architecture leadership for multi-country/global programs; ability to balance speed, quality and cost.

Education
- Bachelor’s/Master’s in Computer Science/Information Technology/Engineering or equivalent experience.
