HCL Microsoft Business Applications Practice is seeking a Microsoft Power Platform Developer for a 4 month (+) contract assignment in Edinburgh. The ideal Consultant will design, develop, and support enterprise solutions using Microsoft Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, and Dataverse while working closely with business stakeholders, architects, and delivery teams to modernise business processes and deliver scalable digital solutions.
Role Overview
As a Microsoft Power Platform Developer, you will be responsible for the design, development, testing, deployment, and support of solutions built on the Microsoft Power Platform ecosystem. You will create scalable applications, automate business processes, and deliver meaningful reporting and analytics solutions using Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, and Dataverse. This role requires strong development skills, experience integrating Microsoft technologies, and the ability to collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to deliver enterprise-grade solutions.
Essential Functions
- Power Apps Development
- Design, develop, and maintain Canvas Apps and Model-Driven Apps.
- Create user-friendly applications aligned with business requirements.
- Implement role-based access controls and security models.
- Integrate Power Apps with Dataverse, SharePoint Online, Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365, and external systems.
- Conduct troubleshooting, bug fixing, and application enhancements.
- Power Automate Development
- Build and maintain Cloud Flows and workflow automation solutions.
- Develop approval processes, notifications, integrations, and data synchronisation workflows.
- Integrate solutions with Dataverse, Dynamics 365, SQL Server, SharePoint Online, REST APIs, and third-party applications.
- Monitor and optimise process performance and reliability.
- Power BI Development
- Design and develop dashboards, reports, and data visualisation solutions.
- Create and optimise DAX calculations, semantic models, and Power Query transformations.
- Translate business reporting requirements into actionable insights.
- Ensure reporting performance, security, and governance standards are maintained.
- Solution Delivery
- Participate in requirements gathering, solution design, development, testing, deployment, and support.
- Produce technical documentation and deployment guides.
- Support Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) activities.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, estimations, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Collaborate with architects, business analysts, and stakeholders throughout the solution lifecycle.
