As a Substance Misuse Officer, you will provide vital support to individuals experiencing drug and alcohol dependency. You will work with service users to assess their needs, develop recovery-focused care plans, and support them through treatment and rehabilitation. This role involves working collaboratively with healthcare professionals, social services, and community organisations to promote recovery, reduce harm, and improve overall wellbeing. You will play a key role in empowering individuals to make positive, sustainable changes in their lives.
Key Responsibilities
- Comprehensive Assessment: Conduct initial and ongoing assessments to identify substance misuse issues, risks, and support needs.
- Care Planning: Develop, implement, and regularly review personalised recovery and treatment plans.
- Support & Intervention: Deliver one-to-one support, brief interventions, and harm reduction advice.
- Safeguarding: Identify and respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns for vulnerable adults and young people.
- Multi-Agency Working: Collaborate with healthcare providers, housing services, and external agencies to ensure coordinated care.
- Case Management: Maintain accurate, up-to-date records and monitor client progress against agreed outcomes.
- Education & Prevention: Provide information on the risks of substance misuse and promote healthier lifestyle choices.
