Role: Community Audiologist - Children's
Salary: Β£26 per hour (umbrella of your choice)
Location: Leicestershire, East Midlands
Job Type: Locum, 3 month contract with a view to extend
Shifts: Full or part-time hours, Mon-Fri
About the Role:
- To provide operational support to the Community Paediatric Audiology Team
- To provide effective delivery of Diagnostic Community Paediatric Audiological Services in line with national and local guidelines and targets
- To deputise as requested by the Family Service Manager
- To actively participate in the development of the service
- To provide highly specialist Paediatric Audiological assessment and diagnosis of children and young people aged from 6 months through to 19 years
- To lead service improvement and quality assurance of practice within the Community Paediatric Audiology Team
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide and deliver a community based specialist paediatric diagnostic assessment service, demonstrating enhanced clinical judgement.
- Ensure that the service is delivered in a timely manner and in line with National Diagnostic Waiting time of 6 weeks
- Demonstrate highly specialist skills in dealing with very young children or children and young people with complex needs.
Who We Are Looking For:
- Education: Recognised BSc Audiology Degree Qualification or prior (pre 2010) equivalent British Association of Audiologists (BAAT) Qualification. Recognised post graduate qualification in Paediatric Audiology
- Experience: 2 years +
- Skills: Well-established knowledge of assessment approaches relevant to Paediatric Audiology. Well-established knowledge of current Paediatric Audiology practice and management of other Audiologists. Collaborative Mindset: Strong self-motivation
- Must be a car driver with access to a car as community work involved.
