Lab Engineer

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Lab Engineer to join our team to enable state-of-the-art robotics research in our Kings Cross facilities. This engineer wi l be accountable for ensuring a l of the robotics platforms are deployed and maintained properly - making sure we have no downtime and our research teams have what they need. This is a hands-on role where your day-to-day activities wi l span across our ful development cycle and you’l be involved in designing, deploying and maintaining our platforms whilst ensuring the documentation is up to date and communicated to our stakeholders across sites.

Role Responsibilities

• Strong electrical, mechanical and software (linux) skills with past experience of builds and prototyping.

• Deploy new systems & features across our data collection, feasibility and R&D fleets of robotics platforms.

• Maintain our fleet, ensuring all testing processes are documented and can be communicated.

• Analyse our robotics issues, make proposals for changes and ensure troubleshooting documentation is up to date.

• Collaborate closely with R&D and other cross functional teams to design, build and test new features/requests that come in and communicate them with our stakeholders.

• Be able to draw up and read system level engineering schematics.

• Ensure all labs, workshops and restricted areas are clean, tidy and pose no H&S risks to the individuals with access to those spaces.

• Work in our workshop, using the tools appropriately and ensure our internal laboratory processes, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and work instructions are consistent and meet compliance.

• Aligning with our other sites across the US, ensuring no misalignment of the technical data.

This is a full time on-site position working in an early/late shift..

Experiences

• Background in Engineering (e.g., Electrical, Mechanical, Robotics, Linux, ROS2), or a related scientific field.

• Proven experience in robotics maintenance in a start-up or faced paced environment.

• Strong understanding of engineering principles and product development lifecycles.

• Excelent written and verbal communication skils, with a keen eye for detail.

• Proficiency in the Google Suite (docs, sheets)

• Ability to work independently and colaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

• Experience in implementing new RCA data analysis.
