You will be responsible for prototyping, refining existing firmware, and bringing up new hardware designs for the next generation of soft robotic products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Hardware Design & Bring‐up: Designing, soldering, and testing PCBs; moving from "off‐the‐shelf" component prototyping to custom, high‐volume production boards.
  • Embedded Software Development: Writing and debugging firmware for ARM Cortex microcontrollers to handle complex sensor data and pneumatic control systems.
  • System Interfacing: Managing communication buses (I2C, SPI, etc.) to integrate accelerometers, pressure sensors, and Bluetooth modules.
  • Data Integration: Pulling together diverse data streams from wearables and medical surfaces for clinical‐grade analysis.

Technical Requirements

The ideal candidate is an engineer who thrives in a fast‐paced environment and has a "get‐it‐done" attitude.

Essential Experience

  • 2+ years of commercial experience (Post‐University).
  • Strong Embedded C programming skills.
  • Direct experience with ARM Cortex architecture.
  • Proven ability in PCB Design and layout.
  • Hands‐on lab skills: Soldering, debugging, and using oscilloscopes/logic analyzers.
  • Familiarity with low‐power wireless protocols.

Additional Skills (Highly Desirable)

  • Sensors & Signal Processing: Experience with IMUs (accelerometers/gyroscopes) and pressure sensing.
  • Pneumatic/Actuator Control: Knowledge of controlling small‐scale pumps, valves, or soft‐robotic actuators.
  • Power Management: Designing for battery‐powered wearable devices.
  • Regulatory Awareness: Familiarity with ISO 13485 or IEC 60601 (Medical Device standards) is a plus, though not essential.
  • Python/Scripting: For automated testing and data visualization.

Why Join?

  • High Impact: Work on a product line with projected volumes moving from 50k to 5 million units within three years.
  • World‐Class Mentorship: Work alongside a team that includes some of the most successful names in consumer electronics and medical surgery.
  • The Vibe: A buzzing and social office in a dedicated workspace (Hybrid, 2-3 days in‐office).
  • Equity: Competitive salary plus stock options in a company with massive aspirations and proven leadership.
