Solidworks Mechanical Design Team Lead

Experienced mechanical design engineer with responsibility of overseeing a small team of 4 to join a growing manufacturing engineering firm. The Team Lead will oversee the in-house Engineering Design Team, reporting in to the Head of Engineering once or twice a week. The role requirements:- * Report to the Head of Engineering * Assist with the mechanical design of products using your 3D Solidworks experience * Working with low volume manufacturing (projects typically 6months – 2yrs in length) * Design in concept through to prototype manufacture and validation * Experience within mechanical design engineering and DFM. * Manage a team of four Solidworks designers – Providing technical leadership and guidance * Communicate with customers & sit in on meetings. * Manage project times to ensure delivery of team targets The Mechanical Design Engineer must have:- * Min 5yrs commercial experience * Solidworks CAD package a must. * AutoCAD * Microsoft Office (Excel etc.) and ideally understanding of an MRP system * Good experience with engineering principles * Strong documentation and good eye for detail * Excellent communication and leadership skills This is a fantastic opportunity for a bright Mechanical Design engineer with good leadership abilities to join company going through a very exciting period of expansion.
