Job Purpose:
This role would be well suited for an Underwriter who is dedicated and keen to make an impact on a market leading team. The successful candidate will work closely with our regional underwriters facilitating the growth of our regional media PI book. This will include regular underwriter training as well as handling renewals, new risks, quotations, adjustments and developing broker relationships. This role is not based in Lloyds; however, experience of the London Market and international business would form part of this role. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop Media PI insurance working with brokers across the UK and internationally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide service to brokers for Media professionals.
- Broker development, actively meeting with Brokers to develop business.
- Attend market/client meetings as a representative of the Media PI team.
- Support Underwriting Director with project work in response to the evolving Media landscape.
- Underwriting of risks within authority and referral of risks outside of authority.
- Take underwriting referrals from others once appropriate authority level attained and provide necessary support/training to the team.
- Monitoring of Broker Accounts.
- Assist in compiling and presenting training sessions.
- Dealing with underwriting administration e.g. production of policy documents, accounts queries etc.
Skills and Experience Specification:
- At least 3 years’ experience of working within a similar role.
- A high level of technical Media PI underwriting knowledge.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) to underpin broker development, relationship building and report writing.
- The ability to manage data within Excel.
- Strong negotiation and numerical skills.
- Ability to organise workload and priorities and work to deadlines.
