Main Function of the Role
TMHCC is seeking a Business Delivery Partner to join our Underwriting Optimisation team which aligns to our Underwriting Performance area. This team will be managing identifying and delivering changes needed into multiple product offerings across TMHCC.
This role will be working closely with the Business Stakeholders to understand their needs and translating those across to the delivery teams.
The large scale of change needed in underwriting, means that the work that you will be working on will be varied and across multiple teams, so there is plenty of opportunity to learn and expand your knowledge.
You will report to the Head of Underwriting Optimisation, who is responsible for embedding change into the business, inline with the overall strategy.
Your role is crucial towards the success of the products within underwriting. You will be part of a forefront business transformation towards a way of operating, that centres upon empowerment around the business’ products and adopts increasingly agile ways of working. This will require an open-minded approach and collaboration with agile coaches that will assist in the team transformation, and the ability to navigate associated cultural implications.
In parallel, you will need to get the best out of your evolving team, and help empower it to deliver change from ideation through to release, leveraging all of the disciplines that make-up the team
Responsibilities
- Lead a number of business initiatives as Business Delivery Partner.
- Interact with stakeholders at all levels and across numerous disciplines to ensure the objectives and outcomes of any work undertaken are commonly understood and agreed.
- Engage with business stakeholders, wider change teams and subject matter experts (SMEs) to define and agree delivery approach, timelines, costs.
- Ensure all work undertaken is delivered in accordance with established project approaches.
- Responsible for all usual duties of a Business Delivery Partner including agreeing deliverables, success criteria, business readiness, business integration, resource requirements; project dependencies, planning and progression, financials management; status reporting, effective communications; ongoing risk assessment and adaptation, and appropriate escalation
- Incorporates regular and appropriate consultation with executive leadership, sponsors, business and other stakeholders to validate delivery trajectory and performance feedback.
- Ensure full understanding of delivery impacts then translate that into communications and engagement plans.
- Will need to manage priorities and deliveries of multiple deliveries at once.
- Identify opportunities for other areas to leverage benefits of deliveries.
- Will need to engage and understand the impact to underwriting for any Company wide projects
Person Specification
- Experience in a combination of different change initiatives e.g. people & process, business enablement, front office, claims, regulatory, compliance, operational risk, , etc. within an insurance company.
- Proven project management experience and understanding of project delivery approaches and methods.
- Demonstrable business change delivery experience and partnering with the business on delivery.
- Experience of delivering across all phases of the project lifecycle.
- Proven ability of engagement of stakeholders at all levels, across business and functions to deliver against defined objectives.
- Solid project management experience and ability to clearly demonstrate management of cross functional/cross discipline teams both through direct management and influence.
- Ability to work as an effective member of a team.
- Ability to build effective teams.
- Proficiency in managing multiple tasks; work-streams concurrently, prioritizing accordingly to ensure consistent deliver to time.
- Strong analytical skills: the role requires interpretation and synthesis of regulatory, business and technical information to ensure that the solutions implemented deliver business outcomes
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with proven ability to vary approach and so ensure that the method of communicating any message is tailored to the intended audience.
