Job Purpose:
The E-Commerce Manager is responsible for defining and executing the digital conversion strategies to improve the online customer experience, increase conversion and retention rates, and drive revenue growth through digital channels.
The E-Commerce manager will work collaboratively across the business but principally with the Marketing Manager and Sales & Customer Services Manager to ensure consistency of approach, alignment with overarching business goals and strategy, whilst upholding business values.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the e-commerce sales funnel, ensuring a high-converting and seamless online experience.
- Develop and implement conversion rate optimisation (CRO) strategies, utilising A/B testing, heatmaps, and analytics-driven enhancements.
- Track and analyse digital KPIs, including traffic, conversion rates, customer acquisition costs (CAC), and sales performance.
- Work closely with developers and designers to optimise website experience, drive UX/UI enhancements, and improve e-commerce platform effectiveness.
- Ensure the website is mobile-optimised and fully responsive to enhance customer engagement in line with industry best practice.
- Oversee website testing and development, ensuring a high standard of performance and functionality.
- Partner with the Marketing Manager to ensure website content aligns with branding, messaging, and SEO strategies.
- Partner with the Sales & Customer Services Manager to new customer acquisition and retention strategies are aligned across channels
Performance Objectives:
- Increase online sales performance through digital sales funnels, improving conversion rates
- Ensure a seamless and engaging online journey that aligns with business goals, improves customer loyalty, retention, and overall lifetime value.
- Identify and refine operational processes to improve efficiency, reduce friction, and enhance service quality in the digital experience
- Utilise performance data, customer insights, and market trends to drive decision-making
- Execute tactics that support the company\’s overarching strategy, and are aligned with business values and goals
Skills and Experience Specification:
- Degree in Marketing, E-Commerce, Business, or a related field.
- Experience working with B2C or D2C brands.
- Experience in managing an e-commerce website or platform
- Extensive knowledge of analytical tools across website UX/UI, customer experience and CRO
- Experience with CRM and marketing automation tools
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in managing a multi-faceted team
- Experience operating within the contractor/freelancer support sectors
- Knowledge of tax legislations affecting self-employed workers, i.e. IR35
- Knowledge of commercial insurance products or the insurance market in general
- Experience in using Sitecore CMS
- Experience in using Salesforce and Salesforce Marketing Cloud suite
- Experience with paid advertising platforms (Google Ads, Meta Ads, etc.).
