HCB Widdows Mason is seeking a diligent and proactive Legal Assistant to join our Residential Property team in Swansea. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for individuals looking to support clients through their residential property transactions while gaining valuable experience in a reputable legal environment. Comprehensive training will be provided to ensure your success in this position.

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting clients with inquiries regarding residential property transactions.
  • Providing regular updates to clients and tracking the progress of their matters.
  • Opening and closing client files in accordance with firm policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Performing general administrative tasks to assist the team effectively.
  • Preparing and issuing quotes to clients and drafting completion statements.
  • Reviewing mortgage offers and preparing reports with appropriate supervision.
  • Conducting online searches and due diligence regarding property transactions.
  • Utilizing the Land Registry portal for submissions and managing requisitions.
  • Calculating Stamp Duty Land Tax and processing applications.
  • Assisting with billing and financial tasks for the team.
  • Providing occasional reception cover as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to balance multiple tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and reporting.
  • Previous experience in a legal context, especially in property law, is preferred but not essential.
