HCB Widdows Mason is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our Property team, specifically focusing on New Build projects. This position presents an exciting opportunity for individuals with a passion for real estate and property transactions, particularly in assisting clients with new build properties. Comprehensive training will be offered to the successful candidate.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Assisting clients with inquiries related to new build property transactions.
- Providing regular updates to clients and monitoring the progress of their transactions.
- Opening and closing client files, ensuring adherence to the firm's AML and regulatory requirements.
- Conducting administrative tasks related to property transactions and documentation.
- Preparing and submitting quotes and drafting completion statements for new build purchases.
- Reviewing documentation from developers and preparing reports for the clients as needed.
- Conducting due diligence and coordinating with relevant parties in the transaction process.
- Utilizing the Land Registry and other relevant portals for property registrations and submissions.
- Assisting with Stamp Duty Land Tax calculations and submitting required applications.
- Supporting the team with billing and financial documentation as necessary.
- Providing occasional reception cover when required.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong organizational and administrative skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and work well under pressure.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
- Previous experience in property law or new build transactions is advantageous but not essential.
