HCB Solicitors are recruiting for a legal assistant to join the Family Law team based at our Warrington Office. To be successful you will have a strong secretarial and administration background. Experience in Legal Aid and family law is preferred but not essential as training will be provided. You will be well organised and be able to work independently to ensure that tasks are completed on time and to a high standard. Confidence in dealing with clients in a professional manner, both on the telephone and in person, is essential.
Responsibilities include:
- Dealing with queries raised by clients, solicitors and other involved parties
- Provide client updates and monitor matter progression
- Opening and closing matters on the case management system compliant with the firm's AML and quality standards and SRA regulations
- Supervised drafting of basic correspondence, forms and documents
- Submitting/registering forms and legal documents HMCTS, Legal Aid Agency
- Maintaining contact lists and calendars for fee earners
- Monitoring deadlines, manage appointments and diaries
- Preparing and submitting bills, payments and receipts, liaising with the finance team
- Handling overflow client telephone calls
- Reception cover
- Preparing and taking the banking and post
- Other duties as required to ensure the efficient running of the office
Requirements for this role include:
- Previous work experience as family law legal assistant/secretary
- Satisfactory knowledge of day-to-day operations of a legal office
- Advanced computer literacy (word, excel, outlook)
- Working knowledge of case management software
- Proficiency in English
- Excellent administrative and organisational skills
- Ability to juggle multiple activities and work under pressure
Hours - Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 17:15 with a one hour lunch break (Office Based)
Attractive salary dependent on experience
