We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Compliance Manager (Property) to join our Strategic Property Team on a fixed-term basis, supporting a key compliance project across the Council’s property estate.
About the Role
This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in delivering a specialist compliance project aimed at ensuring the Council’s entire property portfolio meets all statutory requirements. The project will establish a fully compliant estate, enabling a smooth transition to business-as-usual management by the permanent Compliance Team. Working within a dedicated unit in the Facilities Management (FM) function, you will collaborate closely with a specialist project team, including two project-specific lawyers responsible for reviewing property agreements and clarifying statutory compliance responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct site inspections across the Council’s property estate to assess statutory compliance.
- Identify areas of non-compliance and take appropriate action to rectify issues.
- Manage and coordinate third-party contractors to deliver remedial works.
- Monitor progress and ensure all required actions are completed effectively and on time.
- Accurately maintain and update compliance tracking systems.
- Work collaboratively with legal and compliance colleagues to ensure clear accountability and adherence to statutory obligations.
About You
We are looking for a candidate who brings:
- Exceptional attention to detail and a methodical approach.
- Strong working knowledge of property-related statutory compliance requirements.
- A sound understanding of building pathology and M&E (mechanical and electrical) systems.
- Proven experience in managing contractors and delivering property-related projects.
- Excellent organisational and project management skills.

Additional Information
This is a fixed-term role linked to a defined compliance project. The primary base will be the Council’s Civic Centre; however, extensive travel across the Borough is required. Please note that access to a vehicle may be necessary, as public transport options to some sites are limited.
