- Prepare clinics by ensuring all relevant correspondence, imaging, scan results, insurance information and patient records are available and up to date.
- Manage patient enquiries, inboxes and telephone calls, providing a professional and responsive service to patients, consultants and multidisciplinary teams.
- Arrange planned and urgent admissions, request investigations and obtain test results, escalating abnormal or urgent findings where appropriate.
- Process clinic outcomes and undertake associated follow-up actions, including arranging further investigations, treatments and surgical procedures.
- Prepare, distribute and manage dictated letters and clinical correspondence, ensuring documentation is completed accurately and within agreed timescales.
- Undertake additional administrative responsibilities as required to support the smooth running of the consultant's practice and ensure an excellent patient experience.

- Proven experience working as a Medical Secretary.
- Experience supporting consultants within a busy healthcare environment, with the ability to adapt quickly to different specialties and ways of working.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively across different teams and services.
- A strong understanding of medical terminology and clinical processes.
- Excellent typing, audio-typing and document production skills, with a high level of accuracy.
- Strong communication, organisational and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage competing demands effectively.
- A proactive and patient-focused approach, with the ability to work independently and manage a busy workload.
