We are looking for a Senior Theatre Practitioner with experience in Spinal Complex cases to join our Theatre department at The Wellington Hospital, currently rated “Good” by the CQC. The theatres across our facilities provide a vibrant, exciting and professional environment where the advanced equipment and technology is second to none.

The Wellington Hospital provides the highest level of care for patients who are looking for the best treatment in key areas of healthcare, including: neurosurgery, spinal surgery, cardiac care, orthopaedics, acute neurological rehabilitation, gynaecology and cancer care. They have 11 theatres across 3 buildings covering multiple surgical specialties. Successful candidates will be part of a large theatre team of experienced professionals. The Wellington Hospital has a successful track record of career progression, offering support and development to those seeking to aspire higher or widen their knowledge, including offering a Surgical First Assistant Course.

As a Senior Theatre Practitioner, you’ll support individuals and teams to deliver safe, high-quality, and effective patient care that is responsive to the needs of our patients. You will be a team player who is confident to run theatre lists and set up theatres. You will have an impressive level of Spinal or Neuro knowledge and will have a minimum of 3 years\’ experience working in the theatre setting.

What you’ll bring:

  1. 3 years of Spinal experience
  2. Experience working with 1 or 2 Complex spinal cases including: ALIF, Anterior Lumbar Interbody Fusion, TLIF-Transforaminal, XLIF-eXtreme Lateral Interbody Fusion, Intradural Lesions, Craniotomies.
  3. HCPC/NMC Registration
  4. Team Player
  5. Confident to set up theatres, run theatre lists and ask questions.
  6. To ensure safety for patients and colleagues
  7. Working as a team member in all areas of the theatre suite, sharing knowledge and information and supporting colleagues to promote a cohesive team and the achievement of team objectives.
