Clinical Nurse Specialist – Orthopaedic
Location: London: Lister Hospital, Chelsea
Full time: 37.5 hours/week Mon – Fri
Shifts: 9-5
Contract: Permanent

The Lister Hospital is recruiting for a dynamic and passionate Orthopaedic Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) to join their Inpatient/Outpatient Team. As a clinical leader, you will facilitate the patients’ journey from first contact through to discharge. As a CNS, you will ensure that patient-centred care is delivered at its highest standard while collaborating with other members of the MDT Team such as the therapy teams and governance.
As an independent practitioner, you will encourage and teach the enhanced recovery programme after surgery (ERAS) with all patients. You will also lead on clinical audits and research under the direction of the Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon and have a commitment to improving practice based on research findings. Additionally, you will play a key role in the growth of spinal services, working alongside consultants and the business development team to expand orthopaedic services. Your involvement in Quality Improvement Projects will be essential in maintaining and enhancing excellent patient services at The Lister Hospital.
What you will bring:
- NMC registered
- Experience at a similar level with extensive relevant post-registration experience including experience in a relevant Orthopaedic surgery setting
- Significant experience in caring for major Orthopaedic cases
- Recognised teaching qualification or evidence of Masters level learning would be advantageous.
- The ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including communication (verbal, non-verbal and written), positive mental attitude and sensitivity
