About the Harborne Hospital
The Harborne Hospital is a new private hospital in Birmingham, a partnership between HCA Healthcare UK and the University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. It offers a comprehensive range of private medical and surgical services, including critical care, cancer care, cardiac care, and a full diagnostic imaging suite, located on the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham campus.
The Role
We’re seeking experienced and motivated Resident Doctors in Critical Care to join our expert medical team. You’ll work closely with Consultants and Specialist Nurses across our Level 3 Adult Critical Care Unit and general wards, ensuring that every patient receives exceptional, timely, and safe care.
What You’ll Do
- Deliver high-quality medical care under the direction of the patient’s named Consultant.
- Diagnose, treat, and manage a range of acute and complex medical conditions.
- Conduct physical examinations and request appropriate investigations.
- Support Consultant-led decisions, ensuring smooth continuity of care.
- Participate in ward rounds, assess new admissions, and review discharges.
- Provide immediate medical support in emergencies, including leading on cardiac arrest calls.
- Play an active role in pre- and post-operative care, clinical assessments, and multidisciplinary collaboration.

What you’ll bring
