Role: Ankle Research Fellow

Town / Site: The Wellington Hospital, St Johns Wood - London.

Contract: 12 Month FTC

Full time / Part time: Full Time or Part Time.

Permanent: There are opportunities for additional shifts, by joining our Bank (internal locums).

We're looking for an Ankle Research Fellow to join our fantastic medical team at The Wellington Hospital located in St Johns Wood, London. As an Ankle Clinical Research Fellow, you will be an integral part of the MSK team, supporting consultants and the clinical team at the London Ankle & Arthritis Centre (LAAC). This fellowship is designed to shape you into a leader in the field of ankle arthritis surgery, equipping you with skills as a teacher and researcher, with an emphasis on evidence-based practices and significant research output. This role offers you great variety. You will be part of the elective team, ward care team, and research team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in clinical activities within the MSK specialty, supporting LAAC consultants in the operating theatre during elective procedures.
  • Oversee the Surgical Resident Doctor (RMO), assisting with routine tasks such as clerking, prescribing TTOs, and supporting consultants on ward rounds.
  • Assist with data capture and analysis for ankle arthritis research and audit studies.
  • Support micro-projects such as "Prodense in Preoperative Bone Cyst Management" and "Evaluation of Prophecy Adoption Curves."
  • Contribute to publication activities, including research topics like Total Ankle Replacement versus Ankle Arthrodesis.
