About The Role

In your role as a Unit Manager at HC‑One you’ll value one thing above all: kindness. It carries across every aspect of our dementia, nursing, residential and specialist care homes. Every single person who works here understands that our residents are people just like them, with their own stories to tell. By joining us, you’ll have a wonderful opportunity to give something back to those people.

Responsibilities

Being a Unit Manager means taking responsibility for a specific part of the home and delivering the very best level of care. You will run the whole unit when the Home Manager and Deputy Home Manager are absent, and you will report any resident concerns—whether an elderly resident has mobility issues, a medical sample needs to be taken or medication administered. In every situation you will keep resident dignity and well‑being at the forefront.

Qualifications

You will have proven leadership skills in a care home for vulnerable adults. Beyond that, this role requires a positive, energetic personality and the natural ability to get along with people. You must be ready to take real accountability and, whenever you communicate with a resident or co‑worker, you’ll be considerate and kind. Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility; you must recognise abuse, harm or neglect, know what to do if concerns arise, attend safeguarding training and be able to report and escalates when necessary.

  • Paid Enhanced DBS/PVG
  • Free uniform
  • Hourly rate is subject to experience and qualifications.
  • During a shift of eight hours or more a nutritious meal will be available

  • Wellbeing – free of charge access to an independent and confidential Employee Assistance Programme providing 24/7 365 support for a whole range of issues.
