Assistant Chef in Sheffield

About the Role

HC-One are looking for an Assistant Chef with at least a Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate and a good understanding of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points. You’ll be organised, able to meet deadlines, present food attractively, follow recipes accurately, and communicate with Residents and co-workers with kindness.

In your role as an Assistant Chef at HC-One, you’ll value one thing above all: kindness. It carries across our Dementia, Nursing, Residential and Specialist Care homes. By joining HC-One you’ll have a wonderful opportunity to give something back to Residents.

As an Assistant Chef you will cook and serve nutritious, healthy meals that Residents will love. You’ll provide outstanding support to our First Chef, taking charge in their absence. You may manage food stock, optimise budgets, coach colleagues, and supervise kitchen cleanup, always keeping Resident wellbeing in mind.

Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. You should recognise signs of possible abuse, harm or neglect and know what to do if concerns arise. All colleagues must attend safeguarding training appropriate to their role and undertake additional training as needed. You should seek appropriate advice and report concerns, escalating if action is not taken.
