Overview
As a Night Senior Care Assistant at HC One, kindness is at the core of everything you do. You will support residents across Dementia, Nursing, Residential and Specialist care homes, delivering personalised care that respects each resident’s story. You will plan and implement care to give residents a real sense of security, dignity and independence, and you will get to know residents and their families to ensure care plans are truly person-centred.
You will lead a team of Care Assistants, maintaining the highest standards of care and influencing the rest of the team. Whether you are showing someone how to use a walking frame, helping a resident at the end of life, or speaking with a resident’s family, you will do so with kindness as the guiding value.
You will assist the Registered Nurse and Care Manager, providing essential physical and mental stimulation through social and recreational activities, as well as administering medication.
One of your key responsibilities is to maintain accurate records of your work and build strong relationships with your team.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of Care Assistants and maintain high standards of care.
- Plan, implement and evaluate care to promote security, dignity and independence for residents.
- Foster truly personalised care plans by knowing residents and their families.
- Assist the Registered Nurse and Care Manager with care delivery and medication administration.
- Provide physical and mental stimulation through social and recreational activities.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and communicate effectively with the team.
Qualifications
- Ideally, a Level 2 Diploma/SNVQ in Adult Social Care (or equivalent).
- Prepared to work towards Level 3 qualification in Adult Social Care or equivalent.
- Background in person-centred care planning and knowledge of caring for people with dementia.
- Strong record-keeping, time management and caring, considerate communication skills.
