About The Role
As Head Chef at HC‑One, you will deliver high‑quality, nutritious meals to residents of our Dementia, Nursing, Residential, and Specialist care homes. You will inspire a kitchen team, manage budgets, stocks and safety standards such as HACCP, and create enjoyable, ambient dining experiences that support residents’ health and wellbeing.
Responsibilities
- Inspire and lead the kitchen team to deliver high‑quality, nutritious meals that residents genuinely enjoy.
- Ensure every dish supports residents’ health and wellbeing, taking into account individual dietary needs, cultural preferences, and nutritional requirements.
- Manage kitchen operations efficiently—overseeing stock, budgets, orders and compliance with food safety standards such as HACCP.
- Collaborate with central teams to maintain consistent nutritional excellence while running a smooth, well‑organised operation.
- Shape mealtimes into enjoyable, ambient dining experiences to enhance residents’ quality of life.
- Recognise signs of abuse, harm or neglect and report concerns as required, supporting colleagues in safeguarding training.
Qualifications
- S/NVQ2 in Catering & Hospitality or Professional Cookery (or equivalent).
- Minimum Level 3 Food Hygiene Certificate.
- Good understanding of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP).
- Leadership, organisational and motivational skills with a kind, considerate attitude.
