As a Kitchen Assistant, your responsibilities will include helping to prepare and serve nutritious, healthy meals that residents will love. You will maintain high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and hygiene. Whether you are managing food supplies, ensuring correct fridge/freezer temperatures, training new staff on equipment, or cleaning spills, you will always prioritise Resident wellbeing.

HC-One is looking for a Kitchen Assistant with some kitchen experience, but what is essential is that you have either an NVQ2 in Catering or Food Preparation, or the willingness to study for one. Good record-keeping and organisational skills are vital, as is the ability to follow recipes. When communicating with Residents or colleagues, you will be considerate and kind.

Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. You should be able to recognise signs of abuse, harm, or neglect and know the appropriate actions to take. All colleagues are required to attend safeguarding training relevant to their role and to undertake additional training as needed. You should also feel comfortable seeking advice and reporting concerns, escalating issues if necessary.
