HC-One are looking for an Assistant Chef with at least a Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate and a great understanding of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points. Beyond that, it’s all about your brilliant, positive energy and natural ability to get along with people. You’ll be organised and meet deadlines, present your food attractively, and have a knack for following recipes perfectly. When you communicate with a Resident or co‑worker, you’ll be truly considerate and kind.

As an Assistant Chef you will:
- Cook and serve nutritious, healthy meals that Residents will love.
- Provide outstanding support to the First Chef, taking charge in their absence.
- Manage food stock and budget usage.
- Coach a colleague and supervise kitchen clean-up.
- Always prioritise Resident wellbeing in all duties.
Safeguarding
Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. You will recognise signs that may indicate possible abuse, harm or neglect in its different forms and know what to do if concerns arise. All colleagues are required to attend safeguarding training appropriate to their role and to undertake additional training in associated areas. You will also have the ability to seek appropriate advice and report concerns, including escalation if action is not taken.
