Overview

East Whitburn, Bathgate, West Lothian, Scotland EH47 – Night shift focused Care Assistant role at HC-One. You will value kindness above all and support residents in Dementia, Nursing, Residential and Specialist care homes. Right now, we’re looking for an enthusiastic and committed Care Assistant to join the team at our care home. We provide long or short-term, convalescence, respite or palliative care with a focus on delivering the highest quality service at all times.

Responsibilities

  • Work under the guidance of a Registered Nurse, taking responsibility for the physical and emotional well-being and social needs of residents.
  • Assist residents with personal care activities such as washing, personal hygiene, dressing and assistance with meals.
  • Deliver care that is compassionate and respectful, helping residents maintain dignity and individuality.
  • Support residents with limited mobility, including helping them learn to use aids, and provide emotional support to those who are distressed or nearing end of life.
  • Engage in general activities within the care home to promote well-being.
  • Recognise signs of abuse, harm or neglect and know how to respond; undertake safeguarding training and escalate concerns if actions are not taken.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Willingness to undertake safeguarding training appropriate to the role.
  • Ability to seek appropriate advice and report concerns, including escalation if action is not taken.
  • Able to meet the requirements of employment with regard to DBS/PVG checks (as applicable).
