HC-One is looking for an Assistant Chef with at least a Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate and a strong understanding of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP). The role focuses on delivering nutritious meals, following recipes accurately, presenting food attractively, and maintaining a positive, respectful approach with Residents and colleagues. You will be organized, able to meet deadlines, and support the First Chef when needed.
Responsibilities
- Cook and serve nutritious, healthy meals that Residents will love.
- Provide outstanding support to the First Chef and take charge in their absence.
- Manage food stock, work within budget, coach a colleague, and supervise kitchen cleanup.
- Always prioritise Resident wellbeing in all duties.
Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. You should recognise signs of possible abuse, harm, or neglect and know what to do if concerns arise. All colleagues must attend safeguarding training appropriate to their role and pursue additional training as needed, including escalation if action is not taken.

- Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate.
- Strong understanding of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP).
- Ability to communicate with Residents and co-workers in a kind and considerate manner.
