About The Role

As an Activities Co-ordinator at HC-One, kindness will be at the core of everything you do. Every single person who works here understands that our Residents are people just like them with their own stories to tell. For you, as an Activities Co-ordinator at The Applewood it will mean planning and implementing the kinds of activities that will delight our Residents. Not to mention helping the Home Manager to organise essential fundraising events. You’ll do so with a sense of kindness above all else, whether you’re giving Residents the confidence to socialise more effectively, developing activity ideas based on Residents’ hobbies, or getting the care home team involved.

HC-One are looking for someone with a background working with vulnerable individuals, ideally developing activity programmes. You’ll have brilliant, positive energy and a natural ability to get along with people. You’ll have good planning, organisational and IT skills and be able to manage your time effectively. You’ll communicate with Residents and co-workers with consideration and kindness.

Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. You should be able to recognise signs of possible abuse, harm or neglect and know what to do if there are concerns. All colleagues are required to attend safeguarding training appropriate to their role and to undertake additional training in associated areas. You also have the ability to seek appropriate advice and report concerns, including escalation if action is not taken.
