About the role

As a Senior Care Assistant at HC One, Kindness will be at the core of everything you do. It touches upon every aspect of our Dementia, Nursing, Residential and Specialist care homes. You will work to give our residents a real sense of security, dignity and independence and help ensure truly personalised care plans. Please be aware this is for night shift only.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, implement and monitor care, maintaining the highest standards of care for residents.
  • Lead a team of Care Assistants, setting example and providing guidance on tasks such as assisting with walking frames or end‑of‑life meals.
  • Assist the Registered Nurse and Care Manager with physical and mental stimulation activities, social and recreational programmes, and medication administration.
  • Maintain accurate records of care provided and build strong relationships with the team.
  • Recognise signs of possible abuse, harm or neglect and undertake appropriate safeguarding training and reporting procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with residents and their families, ensuring care plans are person‑centred and respectful.

Qualifications

  • Level 2 Diploma S/NVQ in Adult Social Care (or equivalent) and intention to progress to Level 3.
  • Background in person‑centred care planning and knowledge of caring for people with dementia.
  • Excellent record‑keeping skills and strong time‑management abilities.
  • Positive energy, natural friendliness and the ability to communicate with kindness and consideration.
