Hours and Workplace

This role is for 33 hours per week.

Key responsibilities

  • Planning and implementing care that gives residents a real sense of security, dignity and independence.
  • Getting to know residents and their families to ensure truly personalised care plans.
  • Leading a team of Care Assistants and maintaining the highest standards of care.
  • Showing residents how to use walking frames, helping at the end of life, and communicating with families in a kind manner.
  • Assisting the Registered Nurse and Care Manager in physical and mental stimulation through social and recreational activities and administering medication.
  • Maintaining accurate records of care and building strong relationships with the rest of the team.

Qualifications and experience

Ideally, you have completed a Level 2 Diploma S/NVQ in Adult Social Care and are prepared to work towards a Level 3 qualification in Adult Social Care or equivalent. A background in person‑centred care planning and knowledge of caring for people with dementia is essential. You should have brilliant positive energy, natural ability to get along with people, demonstrate good record keeping, and manage your time effectively. Communication with residents and co‑workers should be considerate and kind.

Safeguarding

Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility in adult social care. You must recognise signs of abuse, harm, or neglect, know what to do if concerns arise, attend safeguarding training appropriate to your role, seek advice, and report concerns, including escalation where necessary.
