As a Laundry Assistant at HC One, kindness will be at the core of everything you do. It touches every aspect of our Dementia, Nursing, Residential and Specialist care homes. Every person who works here understands that our residents are people just like them with their own stories to tell. This position is part-time, working 8am-4pm on a 3-on/3-off shift pattern.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain a high standard of order and tidiness within the laundry area.
- Keep our residents’ clothing looking and feeling great by washing, drying, ironing and repairing items as needed.
- Maintain linen stocks for day-to-day use and raise any issues to the Senior Housekeeper as they arise.
- Provide a safe, comfortable and welcoming environment that demonstrates a brilliant eye for detail.
- Fold and separate linen and clothes ready to be returned to rooms, and redistribute clothing to the correct rooms with a sense of kindness above anything else.
- Take pride in ensuring your work is always completed to the highest standard and help create an environment that keeps our residents alive, happier and healthier.
- Experience in laundry or a similar role is desirable, but we provide great training.
- Strong time-management and organisational skills are essential.
- Positive energy, a natural ability to get along with people, and excellent communication skills (both listening and giving instruction) are required.
- Consideration and kindness in all interactions with residents and co-workers is essential.

All colleagues are required to attend safeguarding training appropriate to their role and undertake additional training in associated areas. Seek appropriate advice and report concerns, including escalating if action is not taken.
