At HC-One, kindness is at the heart of everything we do. We are looking for a dedicated Chef who can bring their skills and passion for food into our care home kitchen. You'll play a vital role in preparing and serving wholesome, homemade meals that not only meet nutritional needs but also bring comfort and enjoyment to our residents every day.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve meals for residents.
- Plan menus that are nutritious and appetising.
- Maintain the highest standards of food safety and kitchen practice using HACCP principles.
- Show creativity in menu planning and presentation.
- Work as a team player with a positive attitude and caring approach.
- Recognise signs of abuse, harm or neglect and undertake safeguarding training, seek advice and report concerns, including escalation if action is not taken.
- Be comfortable with technology and open to learning digital care planning tools.
Qualifications
- Recognised qualification such as S/NVQ2 in Catering & Hospitality or Professional Cookery.
- Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate.
- Understanding of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP).
- Creativity in menu planning and dish presentation.
- Team‑player qualities, positive attitude and caring approach.
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures.
